My Lists Have Lists!
It’s true. And it’s one of the things saving me right now.
With the holidays, gatherings, things I want to accomplish before the new year and presents to buy, overwhelm often starts to creep for me now.
One tip: Taking the time to organize and keep track of things so that it’s out of your head. This helps my anxiety because it’s written down and then I regularly check my lists so (when I have time to cross things off) that things get done and nothing is missed.
My current favorite go-to app: Microsoft To Do. I am not affiliated and get nothing if you pop over and get it at the App Store. It’s so good though, that I have to mention it.
It syncs to my desktop and iphone, and helps me plan my day. It can even connect to a loved one for a shared list, like Groceries. Just add what is needed and you both have access for whomever gets to the store first.
Mine is organized like this: (Hoping it can help you!)
Main:
Today’s Most Important Things
Long-term To Do Items
Work To Do
Things to Remember (things I easily forget but need to know, like my packing list, the name of my favorite probiotics at Whole Foods)
Leaving the House:
Errands To Do
Groceries
Home Depot Items Needed
Shopping:
Gift Ideas for James:
Gift Ideas for My Daughter
Media:
Podcasts To Listen To:
Movies I Want to See:
Books:
Documentaries:
Personal:
Dream Goals:
My Wish List:
Someday/Maybe: Ideas that could be good for the future, what would be fun? dance lessons? a cruise?
Places I’d Like to Go
Questions for My Next Doctor’s Visit:
Future Dream House: when we stop traveling, what aspects do we want to have? This lets me nest in my mind while being a digital nomad.
Honestly, I check these lists and add to them daily. It calms me to know that I won’t forget anything (ok well, it’s not as likely, but I am very human!) and it keeps my mind clear.
Think it might help you? What things can you add to a list app so that it is off your mind?
